I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised. Fortunately I was able to have this on hand the WEEK my battery decided to trip. I literally had to use this 3 to 4 times in one week because I had a bad battery. As long as you keep this fully charged and attach it correctly to the battery this is a winner winner chicken dinner. So lightweight and gets the job done immediately.
Over the years, I don't know how many times I've been far from home, had a dead battery, and been unable to start my vehicle. What I do know, is that it's always been inconvenient and stressful. I was always taught to carry a set of jumper cables in my vehicle, just in case. However, those same jumper cables are of no use to you if there's no one else around, or no one's willing to give you a jump. I was introduced to similar products by friends and co-workers, and they all swear by them. So I decided that it was time to get one for myself. I came across this jump starter here on iToolMax, and it was such a great price, that I bought one to keep in my company vehicle, then even bought a 2nd one for my wife's car. It comes in its' own hard shell carrying case, with foam interior, and a separate zippered pocket for all of your cables and connectors. It's well worth the purchase, for the price. I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know.
I used one of my friends to start my boat, and it worked like a charm, so I bought one for my boat and one for my vehicles.
This is a great unit and I needed to use it to jump a dead car battery within weeks of purchase. I have used other older model and more expensive units and this one is my favorite of those options. Other brands lack the digital readout which is more valuable that I would have guessed. Other options have no included case and keeping the plug safe and dry is important so it is ready to go when you need it. The best feature is really the digital display. I assume they come with around 80% charge bemuse that is the most optimal for battery life. It would easily jump a car with 80% charge in it and likely you could jump a few times before needing to charge. Other units that just have a little green, yellow, red indicator for charge just don't give you enough feedback on how much charge it used to jump the car or if it is slowly loosing charge over time.
Regarding how to use it... it is very clear where to plug the adapter and just the one button to activate it to charge/jump the car. The light button is a combo of on/off and mode so I suppose you would need to fiddle with that if you needed to get it into S-O-S mode, but it is also very easy to figure out.
Overall this is a great unit and would make a fantastic gift for anyone... yes, even people with AAA might want to just jump their own car and move along instead of waiting for someone else to drive to you with a very similar unit to jump the car. :-)

After having to jump start my car after it sat idle for 2 weeks In an airport garage for non use , I never wanted to be in situation again. Even a good battery can lose power under these conditions.
